Dixie Holloway lost her mother to complications of Alzheimer's and dementia, she was a child turned caretaker. Children of parents who have Alzheimer's or dementia often change roles with their parents to become the caretaker for those that took care of them. That transition can be emotionally taxing. 

 

 

 

 

    In 2011 I lost my grandfather to complications of Alzheimer's and Dementia. My mom became his primary caregiver and I watched her struggle to adjust in the transition from child to a caretaker. This project is dedicated to my mom, my grandfather, and all caretakers.
